Food Intolerance Consultation
During your first appointment we'll take time to go through your symptoms, health history, diet and any existing concerns regarding specific foods. For some people, symptoms and diet can feel like difficult topics to discuss openly with family and friends so the first thing we offer is a safe space to talk to someone without judgement. Â

If you have been struggling with digestive problems, skin complaints or a persistent lack of energy it could be that your body is finding it hard to process certain foods or ingredients.

The Food Intolerance Test
Our simple, painless test pinpoints potential problem foods that could be causing your symptoms. We'll then offer advice on a manageable elimination diet using the Dietx Programme. The test includes a vitamin and mineral check which is provided alongside basic nutritional counselling.

The equipment used is an electrodermal screening machine which creates a circuit to take an energy reading from an acupressure point (usually the tip of your finger or the palm of your hand). Over 70 substances are placed within the circuit one at a time. If a substance is found to cause a problem it will interfere with the energy reading. This is known as resistance.Â
Â
The test is completely painless and no more uncomfortable than a ball point pen touching the end of your finger.

Results and Advice
Due to the nature of the test, results are available immediately. We'll go through the next steps together and work out a sensible plan to get you on track to feeling better.  This will involve eliminating potential problem foods from your diet for a period of time and carefully reintroducing them.Â
Â
Our plan will make this feel like a much less intimidating feat, focusing on what you can eat during this time and how to support your digestive system throughout the process.

How long will the appointment take?
An essential part of the process is to go through nutritional advice and counselling for your individual needs so, whilst the test itself will take around 30 minutes, the appointment is likely to take around an hour and a half.Â
Â
Who can be tested?Â
The test is safe for everyone unless you have a pacemaker fitted. At present, we offer testing from Age 6+.

Ongoing support
Usually, only one test is needed but this may depend on your individual circumstances. We recommend booking at least one follow up appointment to monitor progress, discuss any aspects of the elimination programme that you're finding difficult and if needed, go through the next steps / reintroducing foods.Â
Â
A follow up appointment is usually advisable 4-8 weeks after your first appointment.

Preparation for your first appointment
Prior to your appointment, you'll be sent a short questionnaire to complete. The questionnaire covers existing concerns and a brief history of symptoms. It's helpful to have this in advance but we can go through this together at the start of your appointment if you prefer.Â
