Food Intolerance Testing | Nutritional Counselling| Vitamin and Mineral Guide

How many items will be tested?
We test for 81 items altogether, covering most commonly consumed foods. Click here to see the full list. We can also carry out a vitamin and mineral check during the appointment to see if there is anything you may be lacking and discuss the best foods to start eating / increase.
Is the test painful?
In short - No, the test is not painful. This is a simple test carried out using an electro-dermal screening machine. The process could be compared to a ball point pen being gently pressed on the tip of your finger or the palm of your hand.
Is there anyone who cannot be tested?
The only individuals we cannot test are those with a pacemaker fitted. The test is safe during pregnancy, for young children and elderly individuals. We currently test from age 6.
What sort of people come for the consultation and food intolerance test?
One of the benefits of offering a service like this is the huge variety of people I'm lucky enough to meet! I see children, men and women. The range of health status varies from those who are generally fit and well but want to improve gut health and energy levels further, to those with complex histories for whom this is one positive step along the road to feeling better. Food intolerance and sensitivity can impact the lives of anyone at any time of life and we always take lifestyle, history and severity of symptoms into account when we talk about the next steps after your test. Your plan will be personal to you.
How long will the appointment take?
Most appointments take between 60 and 90 minutes. We start with a short discussion about your symptoms and concerns, carry out the test which takes approximately 20-30 minutes, then go through the results and discuss what's next for you.
What do I do after my appointment?
You will be given a small booklet to take home which includes your results and advice on your elimination plan. During your appointment, we'll discuss what you need to do next and always make sure we cover how to make it realistic for you and your personal circumstances. People are busy and making dietary changes can feel overwhelming but we'll do our best to make sure it doesn't feel daunting and that you leave feeling positive.
Can I bring my baby or young child to my appointment?
Yes! If, like me, you're always either working or have children in tow, you are welcome to bring them with you. If you let me know in advance that's even better so I make sure we've got some activities ready. The office has plenty of space for a pushchair and a small table for colouring.
Can I claim the cost back using my employee wellness package?
You can claim the cost back for food intolerance testing with a number of employee wellness packages. Please check the details provided with your package. You may need to provide details of our membership with the Complimentary Therapists Association (CThA). You can find our listing by searching the Postcode BS15 8JF on the CThA website or by clicking here.
Where can I park?
Some on-street parking is available nearby but the most reliable place to find a parking space is Cecil Road Car Park, Cecil Rd, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 8NA, which is a short walk away. When leaving the car park, continue walking in the same direction as the traffic (one way), past Lidl and turn left where you will see Kingswood House.
What's your cancellation policy?
For cancellations made more than 48 hours before your appointment, a full refund will be given. For cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment, a 50% refund will be given. No refund will be offered for "no show" without prior notice. If you are unwell on the day of your appointment, we do understand this can't be helped and will happily rearrange for a later date.
