Food Intolerance Testing | Nutritional Counselling| Vitamin and Mineral Guide

How many items will be tested?
We test for 81 items altogether, covering most commonly consumed foods. Click here to see the full list. We can also carry out a vitamin and mineral check during the appointment to see if there is anything you may be lacking and discuss the best foods to introduce or increase to meed these nutritional needs.
How long will the appointment take?
Most appointments take between 60 and 90 minutes. We start with a short discussion about your symptoms and concerns, carry out the test which takes approximately 20 minutes, then go through the results and discuss what's next for you.
Is there anyone who cannot be tested?
The only individuals we cannot test are those with a pacemaker fitted. The test is safe during pregnancy, for young children and elderly individuals. We currently test from age 6.
What do I do after my appointment?
You will be given a small booklet to take home which includes your results and advice on your elimination plan. During your appointment, we'll discuss what you need to do next and always make sure we cover how to make it realistic for you and your personal circumstances. People are busy and making dietary changes can feel overwhelming but we'll do our best to make sure it doesn't feel daunting and that you leave feeling positive.
Is the test painful?
In short - No, the test is not painful. This is a simple test carried out using an electro-dermal screening machine. The process could be compared to a ball point pen being gently pressed on the tip of your finger or the palm of your hand.
Can I bring my baby or young child to the appointment?
Yes! If, like me, you're always either working or have children in tow, you are welcome to bring them with you. If you let me know in advance that's even better so I can make sure we've got some activities ready. The office has plenty of space for a pushchair and a small table for colouring.
Can I claim the cost back using my employee wellness package?
You can claim the cost back for food intolerance testing with a number of employee healthcare or wellness packages. Please check the details provided with your package. You may need to provide details of our membership with the Complimentary Therapists Association (CThA). Our membership reference number is II25487667 and we'll happily provide a receipt for your claim. You can find our listing on the Embody For You website by clicking here.
Where can I park?
Some on-street parking is available nearby but the most reliable place to find a parking space is Cecil Road Car Park, Cecil Rd, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 8NA, which is a short walk away. When leaving the car park, continue walking in the same direction as the traffic (one way), past Lidl and turn left where you will see Kingswood House.
Why do you require payment upfront?
As a small business, this is simply to ensure we can keep appointments available for those that need them as multiple no-shows without notice makes this extremely difficult. We have a flexible cancellation policy and are always happy to make schedule changes, even at short notice if needed.
What's your cancellation policy?
For cancellations made more than 48 hours before your appointment, a full refund will be given. For cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment, a 50% refund will be given. No refund will be offered for "no show" without prior notice. If you are unwell or something unexpected crops up last minute, we do understand this can't be helped and will happily rearrange your appointment for a later date at no extra cost to you.
